Rep. Rita Allison“The best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time”
Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865)

I am wishing each of you a Happy New Year filled with joy, good health and happiness. A new year that brings, one day at a time, the opportunity to build, make better, look within, be a kinder person, a caring and giving person. Albert Schweitzer said it well: “I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.”

I am humbly honored to serve District 36 in Spartanburg and Greenville Counties. I look forward to keeping you updated on the work in the district and at the state level. Your ideas, concerns and input are always welcome and needed as I serve YOU and your family.

I plan to send you an email updated weekly. Some of the issues that we will face this year are: Roads and Bridges, State Pension Plan, Education (Early Childcare through Higher Education), Taxes and other areas of transportation and agency efficiency.

I continue to serve as Chair of the SC House Education and Public Works committee. I have a full committee of 18 legislators and 5 sub-committees that will hear and debate policy in all areas of Education and Public Works.

As we swear in a new President and Vice President, welcome a possible new Governor in our state and several new Senators and House Members, I pray for wisdom and direction for all of us. As a member of the SC General Assembly Prayer Caucus we will pray for our state and nation and ask you to join us on that journey.

Allow me to serve you:
